We'll call it a Love Story

this is long awaited...i've always wanted to do thi. it'll need more work im sure...and in celebration of our upcoming anniversary i thought it rather appropriate to pay homage to one of my best memories.
It was one of those days where you robotically follow your routine. As creatures of habit we do whats comfortable. But this day it was time for Aezra to pull up her white flag. To surrender and dust off a forgotten habit. She'd just tore apart alot of things from herself lately but the main one, her ex boyfriend, was the hardest on her yet. It had been exactly 5 days since their break up and it was time for a good change. When the realization occurred was unknown. But Aezra knew the right thing to do was to whole heartedly jump. Jump back into the life she once was accustomed to. Sunday church was a hard day for sure but a good one and she knew that this day, Tuesday, would only get easier. Because today she was going back to Institute. Aezra got all her things needed and packed it in the back pack and off to school she went. Its the beginning of March 2005 and so the weather was very pleasant in the morning. However, regardless of the nice weather, she stuck with her blue jeans. They've never let her down...she'd always felt her best in those Lucky jeans(thats a brand in case you were wondering). Considering the wreck that she was she managed to look her best. With a little flowered shirt on, long blond hair curled and make up in place she was willing to put her weekend behind her and look forward to a fresh start. As she looked in the rear view mirror of her truck that morning she thought to herself "this face looks Sooo much better without all that black smeared mascara." Sometime during that 45 minute drive to Mesa, she wondered if buying some waterproof mascara wouldn't be a bad idea. Knowing Aezra, she'd probably bust out crying in the library feeling sorry for herself.
"Whatever!", she spoke gripping the steering wheel, 'just try to have a good day" she told herself.
The old routine was: go to school, skip institute, drive to Peoria(2Cthe boyfriend) then drive back in time for work. But that plan no longer was in motion...there would absolutely be no skipping her Book of Mormon class today. Even though sadly enough it would only have been her 3rd time attending for this past school year. Sad, but true. Pulling into the Institute parking lot, Aezra parked her white truck under the shade of a tree, grabed her things, and headed to the intersection as to where ppl would cross the road to MCC. She finished most of her finals that morning then preceded to walk back across the street to Institute where she would then probably waste some time before her class started. Walking into the familiar doors and not noticing anyone in particular, she headed to the rec room to see if she could spot some familiar faces. But No one was there either...aha...thats why...because its during class. So she sat her backpack down and plopped on the chair and waited a bit. Ou, but then she remembered the thing she enjoyed most, of which she was kinda known for, the piano. She went to the chapel to see if the piano was vacant to play. But the lights were out and it was dark in there, funny, because its normally not like that. Aezra peered her head in and whispered-shouted
"Hello?, is anybody in here?..."
hearing no immediate response she turned and left. Unbeknownst to her a quiet
"Yeah?"
came from the dark room.
So Again, she found herself board, finger nails tapping on the table she sat next to. It had been a while since she helped herself to their piano, it felt imposing for some reason. Kinda the same feeling the first time you visited your friends house in five years, the house you used to walk right into and help yourself, and now since it had been so long it would feel wrong to take to that old routine again. After a few minutes or so she anxiously went ahead anyway, figured that if she played softly and inviting songs...she'd feel at home again. Non-chanlantly walking past the doors into the chapel, she flipped the light switch up, and started to hum a little tune as she walked up the aisle of benches towards her long awaited piano. When along with this a young man wandering back to sleep, lying upon the chapel bench along the east wall of the east column, awoke. A tired driven student, who just finished all of his finals took it upon himself to catch a quick power nap before heading back. The lights overhead glowed in his eyelids and suddenly he hears a simply sweet voice humming, it was almost as if it were an angel about. Instantly he's impressed with this question "Am I supposed to marry this girl?" whilst to afraid to open his eyes. He continues to lay still, to listen, to uninterrupt, as he begins to hear the playings of this "so called" Angel. It sure felt good sitting down upon the familiar bench. The seat creaked as she adjusted herself to the pianists' pose. Aezra played this song and that song, songs of which she previously composed. Familiarity is a comfort to her, a peace if you will. She feels that singing along with her song makes it more personal. In fact it is a partnership to her. She owns the words and the piano owns the music and together they become magnetic. Indeed to this young man, how he is drawn to it and cannot figure out why. Don't underestimate the power of music, it can be lethally lovely. She played. She crescendo. She decrchendoed. And while she ended, eyes following her right hand, at the corner of her eye some sorta movement caught her off guard. Startled she was as the young man down there in the empty chapel had sat up. To her the look on his face was of some sort of stupor, Awe, struck, a high if you will. The blood in her cheeks appeared by embarrassment, or at so she thought. She struggles in her mind to find the words and then they came.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here." She said "No please, don't stop" said He, this young man emulating charisma and charm.
She swears she saw a sparkle in his handsome eyes. She thought maybe he was tearing up or maybe it was magic. But whatever it was she could not take her eyes off him. Nervousness, anxiety, sweat, pressure...it was all there. But it felt good to her so she placed her fingers upon the cool white keys and began to play another song of which she made. Everything was flowing and moving and then the song was over. All she could think about was "what is He thinking now?" Comments were exchanged and a conversation was born that turned into 15 minutes. Aezra thought: "I wonder if he'll ask for my number?" the young man thought: " Should I ask for her number?...nah, i'll see her again." Aezra Thought: " I don't want this to be a rebound" the young man thought: " I hope shes not seeing anyone" As Aezra looked at the clock and noted the time she stepped down to meet this young man. she thought: "hmm, hes tall." He thought: "Those eyes" During the exchanging of words they walked down the aisle exiting the chapel. She reassured him the promise of her returning to give him her CD of composed songs. They both went there separate ways. Later that day... The young man plows through the front door of his home to his family. and says with astonishment in his voice " I think I met the girl Im going to marry" Also later that day... The young lady went back to her black hole of a gaping emptiness...With her black pants and shirt went to work at the UPS Store of which helped managed. And in her depression thought: "Some things are just meant to be "too good to be true""
