Back injury 2wk update

Well it's two weeks today since my fall and still there is pain. I don't understand it. I mean of course its lessened but its just so annoying. Oh my gosh, wrapping presents!!!!...Nightmare! Picking up Emmery, awful....functioning, ....difficult! Its always the worst in the morning and night. Mornings, because I sat in ONE position all night long and Nights, because by the end of the day's work its fed up. Im fed up. The only things that kept me going were the percocit pills...but even then I had to ration them....not like they gave me a years supply. Oh and when I say pain...i mean just lots and lots of aching and lots of soreness. Like someone took a baseball bat right to my back. No wait!, like im walked down the street and a concrete slab fell on me. Ugh! is all i can say. I feel Like I am some kind of machine and my back is locked up so friggin tight my nuts and bolts cry out it distress. For over the past week I couldn't pick up my own daughter to put her in her chair to eat...she had to make do with sitting on th floor. The past week I had to call someone(my dear sweet neighbor) to come and get Emmery out of her crib from the mornings and nap time. After the 5th day I eventually had to bring on the pain and do it while on percocit. Putting her in the crib was manageable because she was helpful. I would grab her arm while she crawled upon the chair next to her bed, hoist her onto my hip, while she reached the top of her crib and then I would kinda push her in. She'd fall onto her bed, and laugh, and apparently found it funny to get into bed that way for a while. It must have been quite the sight to see. haha ha. The bruises have finally(almost) vanished but the aches still remain. Oh man and don't get me started on sneezing...what a pain! Well everything is getting better and I constantly remind myself im not broken. Huge BLESSING! So I have to sigh and press on. Dont we all?

Friday with Friends

Friday was spent with our friends Kolton and Ashley. First, we took like two hours trying where to decide to eat. Then when we got back we just laid back and enjoyed the boys having fun on Kolton's new Wii
Here is my cute Pregnant Ashley...chillen on the couch
I even got a chance to play the wii...even make my own character!
Emmery was such a good girl for being a sicky...she was coming down with a cough...but she didn't show it...she played by herself with blocks and entertained us with her personality.
We played our new Life game twists&turns that we got for Christmas. It was really fun and Kyler(kolton's brother) won with like over 6million dollars and assets! Crzy!
Thanks for hanging out with us...we love our friends! Muwahhhhhhh!

Christmas continued...

So the story goes that we had to leave my parents house by 11am to get to Sean's mom's house. I was bummed we didn't get to stay longer with my parents considering that we barely started presents at 8am and were done by 10.30. Didn't give us much time to make and eat breakfast. but anywho, so the highlights are: Sean received an awesome new Driver....he can't wait to use it. Serena his sister received a Digital GE blender from us...they were very excited! Some of us pitched in together to get Nancy(MIL) a bike.
We got Rachel and Rob movies galore...they were quite excited as you can see
And I got an Abercrombie sweater...which is now my favorite sweater! Thanks R&R!
And Emmery mostly enjoyed playing with Ryan her other boy cousin.
But she did get a great many things...especially more BOOKS! Which she and I are really excited to receive. Thx!

Here comes Santa Claus

First waking up... then excitement fills your soul. Christmas is past the room door, down the hall, round the corner and awaiting our presence with its presents

We arrived late in the night at my parents home. To our surprise ppl were still up, visiting with my parents. But the usual continued...get emmery's crib ready, make bottle, rock her to sleep, hush the noise down the hall, and lay her down for her 2nd Christmas nap. Sean and I slept in the same room as Em which we found out later was a big mistake. There was a water bed in the room and everytime we moved in our sleep She would russel in her bed. Well at about 4.am she awoke from my movement and began to cry. We gave her the bottle which she refused and after a tug of war we gave up and let her come into bed with us. She played and talked and laid on our heads, picked at our faces, and lounged where ever she pleased. Finally 6am approached when we almost considered just staying up and opening presents...but to our surprise she fell asleep on my arm next to me. I wondered what we would do since I told my mother we would get up by 7...but was too tired to care and soon fell asleep myself. So 8am comes round and I feel the sunlight creeping into the bedroom. Time to get up!

Emmery shyfully awoke, presents galore that couldn't fit in the picture, and stockings stuffed.
Emmery starts to get the hang of it but soon resorts back to her cool stocking stuffers.
Happy girl
Emmery digs her new Einstein laptop!....opening stuff is fun!
Priceless smiles and pretty dresses Emmery's First almost recognized really odd Christmas!
Mommy's new Clock! Long awaited Sleeping Beauty...and snowflake awesome socks!
Lets not forgot Mommy's cool new CAMERA!!!!!!!
and my cool new "Dick Tracy" Shoes! I love em!!!!!!!
Sean is so sweet...he gave me my Camera early so that I could learn how to use it by the time Christmas came. I got it like two weeks advance...ain't he thoughtful. Go ahead...you can say it....Im spoiled! Apparently he'd been saving up for it...thats why we were so broke for a while! haahah all my doing. Oops!
I didn't think I'd actually get it....it was just an idea i was playing with.
Daddy got great jeans, work out equipment, and even a sandwedge...(no not sandwich.)
A very Merry Christmas it was. Thanks Mom and Dad for sharing your Christmas with us

Our Christmas Eve

Christmas eve was swapped this year. We enjoyed it with Sean's family. A delicious Manicotti (?)and Lasagna dinner was made. Unfortunately for me, I had the smallest piece on the planet. But Emmery loved it along with her broccoli and carrots. Then the kids got to open one present. Sadly, I can't remember what Emmery opened..oh well...she got so many things I can't keep up. We relaxed into a very casual laid back Christmas Eve, talking and watching the kid's talents. We sang songs ...ya know...the usual. Remembered what christmas is all about. OH I forgot to mention, Sean did an improve song..." O, Holy Night". It was right on as usual.
Good job babe! Emmery wanted some spotlight as well...so she jumped right in and begged him to hold her.
Then came treat time. I brought Blue sparkled rice crispy treats.
Emmery enjoyed her first one ever!

Friends come to visit

Last Tuesday, around 9 at night, some good friends off ours graced us with their presence(and a present!). Rulon and Laura recently moved near the border(Rulon took up the job of Border patrol). We have been missing them so much since then. However because thanks to the season, and family up here, there was a good excuse for them to drop by before heading back to their home. And heres how it went...
As you may have already guessed, Rulon sorely misses Sean...and is breathing him in before heading out...savoring him. lol While Laura stands by wondering why the heck she is in the shot.

Sean misses him Too!

ya know, I can't help but wonder if Sean's door swings both ways??? Nahhhh!

As you can see...when we are together...they bring out the goofy side in us...

and we LOVE EM' for it! its getting late

We love you guys!!!

Thanks for stopping by and making our Christmas just that much better!

Christmas Eve with the Vinings

For those of you who don't know, Vining is my maiden name. Every year, for quite some time now, we celebrate Christmas Eve the Sunday before christmas with my side of the family. Which works out great for all the inlaws and for all of us in general.(cramming in everyone's families on christmas can be quite stressful and chaotic) The evening was great...
the food was great, (here is my cute prego sister)
(My first ever-made "snowballs" or Mexican wedding cookies.)
the entertainment was great, (sean playing squirt with Trin)
(the play)
(my sis at the piano)
the singing was great,
the presents were great,(oh yeah, thats the new Enya CD!jealous!)
(my mother received an awesome gift!)
and It was great spending time with my family( of which I only see once a month.)
And this segment is called "Emmery"...
Em bumming food off of ppl
"Hhmmm...I sure am thirsty and your drink looks delicious"
"Hmmmmm...what cha got there Jathen?...mind if I have some?"

Emmery's Talent was called "Getting your attention by screaming"

Ppl thought it was funny and especially odd to find Emmery so lively.
