Water

About two weeks ago Emmery was given a plant from nursery. I asked how often I should water it and the lady had no idea. Can't recall what kind of plant she said it to be. But I found myself starring at that plant as I washed my hands at the kitchen sink daily. And thought ya know I probably should water that pile of dirt and see what sprouts. Only one way to find out what kind it is right? So everyday since I have grabbed that pot and poured a little city water into it. For the first time, yesterday, I went to grab the pot and noticed something peeking! Sure enough it was the tiny plant under the dirt. Just a little green and white stub. I was so delighted that I watered it again until it felt damp.
Today was fun...I was going about my doings and looked over at the pot while washing my hands and thought "oh, i should water that". As I am dripping water from the tap I noticed it looked taller today. It grew at least a centimeter! And sure enough it grew some leaves too! Yay! I am so happy for that little plant.
I can't help but relate it to the scriptures. I mean c'mon...if you read your scriptures everyday sure enough something sprouts inside of you or grows a little more every time you "water" it. And it makes you feel all good and nourished inside doesn't it? I have to ask myself...
" Did you water today?"

What once was, now is...

Theres always change in motion.... We bought a HUGE 36in CRV tv for $50!!!!!!!!! can you believe it? But the so called "tv stand" wasn't up for the job...probably b/c its a shoe rack...but hey if you're trying to be frugal. Anywho, we knew it could not hold our new addition to the TV family of four(Golly geez). ~Fleming TV History~ Tv number One: Broke....resort? Tv number two: Goodwill $4.59 Tv number three: 19" 10$ yard sale buy tv number four: 27" gift from FIL(father in law) Tv number five: 36" 150lbs hunk of awesome-ness! So thats when we went and bought this purty gal for $80 bucks. But now it doesn't fit. Hmmmmm...what to do? what to do? Move I guess.

I am yellow today

I've been trying real hard to stray away from the green shirt rack and expound on more colors from the rainbow. Yellow is allotted thus far. Not sure how my quest is turning out...but I do believe I like where this is going.
It makes me feel just a little more alive inside.
Thanks Old Navy! :0)

The brightness of a new world

Recently we had another NEW addition to the family:
Little Madolin Kelly AKA Maddie K
I thought it was such a great opportunity that they named her Madolin. It is actually a family name and it fits right in with the M names shes got going. I think that is Neat-o. I have always liked the name Ivy since my great great grandmother. But when Emmery was born i just knew the name wasn't meant for her. But maybe someday it'll be an addition to the family once again.
We'll see...but for now I blow kisses to my new niece off in Georgia. Muuuwahhh!
luvs to you all!
~Congratulations~

Welcome to my humble abode

I've been neglecting to do this for sometime now. Few weeks back my mother and I did some back breaking spring cleaning in preparation for some "hopeful" renters. Sadly enough it fell through but on the bright side we got everything(well practically everything) taken care of. Poor Hubs can't do jack-squat from his recent back surgery so I begged my mother to come and help me. Oh and it wasn't just cleaning that we did...we organized and "staged" the house. If you're not familiar with the term staging..think "model home".(that should give you the idea). Ah ha, so here is the slide show I made giving the Craigslist people and idea of what they'll be living in. So here it is for you to also see for yourself(if you care to that is):
Thanks for stopping by! :0)

Hunting

House hunting can be adventurous and fun but also tiresome and weary. Especially if you gotta kid running around and hopping in and out of the car all day. Blah! thats the down side. But the upside is you can get to imagine what it would be like to live there. Each house you visit you imagine the kids running around, doing dishes, entertaining, etc. Well we found a very nice home in mesa...a steal, great space, huge backyard, lots of storage space, 4 beds-2 baths, 2 car garage, BUT something just doesn't fit with me. I walked out of that home and the Hubs asks me: "well, whad ja think?". Honestly, my mind was blank. All I could mange was "I have to let it sink in...think about it."
When really whats there to think about? Its an all around great home, my only complaints would be the kitchen..which needs a paint job and new cupboards...a project down the road no doubt. A huge lot, huge home...great for a future family???whats there to think about? thats all i kept thinking..."whats wrong with me?"
I should be excited and jumping up and down. But im not. I should be envisioning good times ahead, bbq's in the back yard, sun bathing in the back yard, sleeping in my huge master bedroom. But Im not. I should be dreaming of my mornings playing on the piano while watching the cars drive by. But Im not. I should be imagining how I would "decorate this" and "decorate that". BUT IM NOT!
Whats wrong with me? Am I scared to move? Am I too picky? What!?
Its is ill of me to say Im just not feelin' it with this home? That maybe I am feeling the feelings I AM feeling b/c this isn't where were meant to be?

Word Week

I found this very common for me as a mother.
Appease:
1. Pacify: to say or do something in order to make somebody less angry or aggressive, especially by giving in to demands that have been made.
2. satisfy need: to satisfy a need for something, especially a physical appetite. appeased their thirst with a long cool drink

Seem common to any of you?

Yes, thats a sucker. And she's thinking "Ha! Daddy's a sucker!"

Lovely Love-Day

The weekend started out like any other...get up with Emmery while the hubby slept in. As I made breakfast I was trying to think of something I could get him that day. I know he like candy of course so chocolates seemed like a good choice. So off we went to the Mall to pick up his favorite See's Candy. Truffles and Pecan buds, butterscotch and brittle....yummmm...all so good...but Hub's favorite Hands down, is the Peanut butter patties. So I got a one pound with half the box filled with Peanut butter patties, along with Peanut brittle and almond buds. I was quite disappointed because they were all out of the Pecan buds aka Turtles as they call em'. Wrapped with red paper and ready to go I headed back home. I arrived to a kiss on the lips and off he went to get his hair cut. Now time seemed especially slow...or maybe it was because he was actually gone for over and hour. I began to worry considering that he's usually back in 45 minutes. Oh well, so I started to get myself ready: i started curling my hair and painting my nails. I heard the garage door shut; he was home. But then 10 minutes had gone by and still no Hub to greet me upstairs. Curious as I was, I went down stairs where a beautiful bouquet of roses(and card)

was there to greet my eager eyes. I was so excited that he remembered what kind I like: peachy-pink and yellow colored. Red is pretty but predicable. Pink is nice too. But today he could do no wrong. I was going to make this a 'complaint free' day...remembering to tell myself..."just enjoy it and be thankful."
4 O'clock was drawing near...we were meeting our friends JC and Kelly at Texas Roadhouse. I needed to hurry in order to be ready to pick up the babysitter to leave before Emmery awoke from her nap. Everything was flowing ...so far were on time...we arrived to a predicable line covering the sidewalk of the entrance to the steakhouse. .. to then a predicable 1 1/2 wait to be seated. Was it worth it? NO....so we went to Logan's Steakhouse instead. NO WAIT!!! Hooray! I find that interesting b/c it is a copycat of Texas roadhouse. Prices are decent and food is good...whats the big deal that its not "texas roadhouse".

Anywho, Kelly and JC are this fun couple from our old ward whom we love to hang out with. Mostly over at there place b/c if we switched its likely they wouldn't come here. :0) They like their environment and the convenience of their home. Which I don't blame them...but we don't mind at all. So it was planned that we would all go out together last minute to Logan's. It was nice visiting with them. After dinner Sean and I didn't know what to do with ourselves being childless...so Kelly invited us to come over to their place play some games. So we did. It was short but sweet.

Then off to Burlington to do some shopping:0) and while we were there we saw a great deal on a table just fitting for a entertainment unit. We bought a huge 36 in TV for $50 but didn't have anything "sturdy" to put it on. 80$ bucks later we had one in the car ready to go home.

We have an awesome babysitter and we are so grateful that we were able to have the funds for this Valentines Date. I love you babe, you make me the "Luckiest" :0)

Word Week

Recently I've been into Boggle...I love it! So as one of my findings for verifying a word I came across this in the dictionary:
Dastard:
a coward
adjective
Isn't that funny? Sean was like" Im totally going to use that at work!" jokingly...but we all know he meant it. :0)

The Funniest Video you'll see all day

We have been working with emmery on her vocab. She is actually doing quite well at identifing and trying to say new words(when we prompt her to). This is just a tad bit of what we've been working on. We are still trying to teach her" ear" body part but its taking some time. Well see for yourself the funniest video you'll see today! :0)

Daddy's wish came true

Today was the hubby's big day. He went in for surgery @ 6am this morning. Doc said it would take 2 hours for the procedure. Thankful again to my lifesaving MIL who so willingly offered to take him in so that Emmery and I could come upon his awakening. Emmery awoke around 9:30 am and we were off to see daddy. The waiting room, keep in mind an energetic 19month old, was undeniably a calorie burning experience. Any mother would know how exhausting it can be to keep one entertained while baring the mad-dashes into the parking lot and into patients rooms. Lost count of how many "Im sorry" 's were said during the 2hr wait. (whew, lemme catch my breath) Thinking about it is exhausting. The month ago fall began to resonate pain through out my mid back on through my rib cage. I almost wanted to check myself in for some kinda surgery to get rid of this nagging ache I get in my back.( I know, I need to see a doctor) Anywho, enough about myself...yes..it was a rough day..but non-the-less over with and everything is great. Mr. Man is in recovery and will be there till tomorrow morning when I pick him up. As far as I know, the surgery went smooth. ( I would have known if ONLY "the marathon runner" would have stayed put in that waiting room...I could have talked with the surgeon myself.) I am so thankful to everyone who kept him/or us in their minds, hearts and prayers. Now I pray for his full recovery and that there be no future ailment from this. A fresh start is due. Of course his fresh start comes with a signed 4-6 week contract. Meaning = NO sports, NO activity(get my drift), NO lifting...nada...nothin'. So we'll see how brave he really is...we'll see hubby's "true" side. A man can only last so long without D. All of the above:0) I must give some praise to my daughter...she did do very well with all the lugging in and out of the car all day. Not used to such a routine. Good Girl! Of course I treated her with a Rice crispie! Yum! At the end of the day we said good-night to daddy. We even got to read with daddy....sweet daddy with all those wires and needles and beeping noises attached to him. But Emmery didn't mind...I think the pictures prove it.

Stick a needle in my...leg.

Oh its that time again. Emmery's 18 month appt.
Nothing amazing...but here are the stats for my records:
Date: 01-30-09
Height: 32.5 inches bringing her in at 60%
Weight: 23 lbs 12oz bring her in at 40%
Head circumference: 45.5 cm---5-10%
thankfully Emm can take it...at least her body can. She hasn't been one to get fevers from shots but she does seem fussy. Don't blame her...jabbing 4 sharp sticks into my straining legs wouldn't feel good either. But she got a yummy lollie pop and Chick-fil-a....I think it was a good outcome.

Topsy Tues

Emmery conquering the slide
This was our first Play date...I guess is what they call it. Its really just us ladies wanting to get outta the house while letting the little kiddos play about. All thanks to my neighbor's idea. I met a nice girl who just moved into the ward too. She happens to be the same age as me! Who'd a thunk? That never seems to happen in my case. So It was nice getting to know her and her little girl who is just but 2 months younger than Em.
Ain't she a cutie?!
It was a nippy day tuesday...so all the kiddies noses were running around everywhere.
But it was fun!
