Not me!

In the early morning hours of the day after Thanksgiving, many people hustle and bustle to get the desired deals for their Christmas presents. They wait and wait and wait in lines that stretch far into a big circle around the store. All because they want a great item for a great price. Nope, not me. It is 7:30am, as I grace the aisles of the toddler section and the toy section, I find it peculiar what the big deal is as I see the joyful 2 hour wait to purchase. It didn't click, until later, that the line of ppl in front was still the same line of ppl in back. "Oh Dear!", I thought. As I look down at my hands holding the desired item to buy I contemplated whether or not 2 hours waiting was worth such a measly item. Nope, was my conclusion, and it didn't take me long to decide. Thankful to my BIL(brother in law)Brent's idea, I quickly found a desired place where no one would notice. I thought "where in this store would nobody be?" Sadly, the work out aisle was the closest place I could think of best for hiding things. No one cares about their health...lets go there. I found the aisle of desired choice and noticed a nice big box with work out equipment in it. Surely nobody would be buying this big thing so I looked around to see if anybody would notice...coast is clear...and I quickly shove behind the box my precious items...that weren't precious enough to wait two hours for. hahaha. The words like "clever" and "sneaky" and "smart" ran through my head as a giddy blond walked out the store empty handed...but not for long. Where's the "Dumb" in Dumb Blond now!... I thought to myself.....No where to be found, I agreed. Muwah Ha Ha ha ha ha I laughed in my head like Dr. Evil did in Austin Powers.

So I went about my business...On to the next card swipper spot! JC Penny's here I come, well more like the Mall. I found some great things after careful searching and debating to wait only 5 minutes and be out the door driving home. After spending time with Sean and Emmery it was time to head out again to see if my plan had worked. Did anybody find my stash??? Is is gone??? Would my plan really work?

It was 11:15 when I arrived and hurried inside. First thing I notice were the lines...they had completely vanished...hooray! There in the work out aisle behind the box, I felt with my fingers the items still there just waiting for me to come back to take them home. Such excitement filled my bosom while clutching to the items I secretively hid. I tried to pace myself walking towards the check out line, really I did, but I was just too excited so speed walking settled second-Best. It felt as if everyone was looking at me, as if they were wondering how did she have that when it was clearly sold out. ( Yes, I did check, all of them were gone...nothing but an empty shelf) I was almost afraid someone would point at me and shout out loud "Cheater!".

I securely fastened myself in a one person line and set my items on the belt. What a joke, I thought staring at them, who would have waited two hours to buy those? Not me! he he! When my thoughts were interrupted with a "Mam?,...your method of Payment?".

Swipe. Smile. Champion.

Turkey, stuffing, family, Lovely

The day started out wonderful with Mr. F sleeping in while Emmery and I sprang on the bed to wake up the sleepy head. Window left open for us to smell the cold wet air breezing through the blinds. But soon all was warm and cozy as Emm and I snuggled under the covers next to daddy. Which, if you didn't know, before he was reincarnated he was a furnace. (deciding what to do)
Emmery and I watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS early morning. A tradition my mom set into motion while I was growing up and now is permanently embedded in me. I must carry it on! We got dressed as quick as we could and rushed over to Grandma's house to help prepare the dinner. It was a small gathering of which none of us are used to. With Serena and family gone from us, taking 5 bodies to Utah, it makes a big missing piece of pie gone from our family. Just one kid now and thats our little Emmery. But with Thanksgiving dinner set and on the table it helps us to remember who we still have near us and no matter the distance we are still loved. If only we had the technology of the "Transport" from Star Trek..the next generation. How convenient and fast that would be. If only, if only.
(Brother Shaun and me)
(Cousin Ryan and Emmery)
Nancy's(MIL) turkey was delicious...I have to give it the 1st place blue ribbon for Best tasting, Best moist, Best yummy-ness turkey I've had. I thought I was eating chicken it was so moist and flavored. But In my opinion, no one can top my mom's pumpkin pie and Yams. She is a women who can put all the other crusts to shame. I have to proudly admit, while I was driving us home from my parents' that evening, Sean(who doesn't eat pie) proudly told me he not only had my mom's pumpkin pie but had TWO pieces of my mom's pie. Yay, I may see a conversion here in the future. Sean is spoiled b/c his family buys him a cheesecake just for him every Thanksgiving.
(Mother and Daughter)
(My family's dinner)Dad, mom, Lori, Tanner, Julie, & cheesy Brent)
Well being that Sean and I have families here we both find ways to split the holidays with them. So 'round 4pm we took off to my parents to enjoy the rest of the evening: talking, watching sports, eating delicious pie, borrowing shopping ads, dodging kids, and indulging ourselves with the love hanging in the atmosphere. I am grateful for my family. I love them so much and would be broken inside if I ever moved. I am grateful for the feelings that family creates...Love, harmony, security, compassion,...of course I'm only naming the good ones so we'll keep it that way. Thank you Heavenly father for bringing me into this family...even if I was behind. And my in-law family too...such wonderful ppl. Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Falling in Fall

Oh how rain gives my mind a rinse

When the Morning's calm clears into view

When the mind realizes the day is anew

It's music provides click-clank-pitter -patter

Can't recall how long its been since

Drifts my senses, cleanses my thoughts

Sit up in bed to rid myself of knots

To breach the dawning of a new dream

The drizzle outside my window

Composes itself to reveal so clean

I am thankful of this to be sure

Grace us with more, I'll endure

God shows his love in many ways

And sometimes its hard to see them these days

But Look at what He's created, such simple bliss ___________ Picture by Mike Moats

It happened again

As to what I am speaking of which some of you may know already...that Sean hurt his back again. A week ago Today, Sean called me up and begged me to pick him up from work. It was an accident and in no way out of the ordinary. Somehow he tweaked his back and through Thursday to Friday was taking the pain meds given to him last time. However they were not working well but enough to ease the pain a little. Then after a day and half of rest, Sean decided it was mandatory that he go to work on Friday. Early morning about 6am I wake up to a moaning and groaning man walking up the stairs. It was Sean coming back from work. He left home to get to work by 5am, got there and couldn't sit down, so he decided to leave b/c the pain was so great. The car ride to work did him in...somehow pinching his nerve to which caused his foot and right leg to go numb. Sean ,being in eminence pain ,drove home. Can you imagine driving home on the freeway with a RIGHT leg and a foot you CAN'T FEEL?!?!?! Thank God he came home to us in one piece.
Sean needed to get help so Sean's mom thankfully was able to take him to the Emergency room. He had been there before a few months back and the doctors gave him the same dose of medicine that had helped rid his pain before. But to all their dismay, Sean was still in horrible back crunching pain. So they gave him a dose, and then another dose and then ANOTHER DOSE and Sean was so drugged up, so out of it and he still complained of the pain being too great. Sean could not remove himself from the cradle position or else the pain would consume him. Sean finally told them to stop..that it wasn't going to help anymore.
By the end of the day around 4pm, Sean was home in bed and sleeping again. Poor guy had a long rough day.
It was nice that the weekend came so he could rest his back before going back to work. Which I am happy to say he did and did very well, other than the fact that he slept most the day. Pain meds make him drowsy. It has been a week since and he is doing much better. He can sleep through the night and move better now.
But what lies in question is whether or not to get back surgery. Sean swore to himself that if this happened to him one more time that he was set on getting back surgery. Now, I was against it at first but now I see that every time he hurts his back, it damages his nerve which disables Sean's leg and foot to work properly. It takes months to get it back to almost normal. Nerve damage is irreversible and we don't have the time to wait around for the next accident to happen only to have it ruin his nerve and ruin the functionality of his leg. Its been three years since his first back injury and has had way to many nerve problems in between then and now.
Oh, What to do? what to do?

I love clothes

Shopping for kids clothes is JUST as addicting as shopping for yourself!!! is it not?!! I just recently discovered this and another future fault im afraid is surfacing. You see, I have been so fortunate to receive many many hand-me-downs from my wonderful sister. I don't really know the shopping scene for Emm b/c of this blessing. But now I have come to a place where its high time to start building a new supply for Emm. So the adventures of shopping began last week and here are my findings...

JcPenny's has this new brand called American Living..its all american-ized style of clothing...very agreeable but awfully expensive. However I found this baby for Emm..get this...only $8.63! I don't think you understand this is a savings of $29 dollars. The tag fooled me, it said it was for 10$.

Family Portraits are around the corner and red & blue are the desired color attire. Found this adorable baby blue woven dress @ Target for $12.99! All that morning I could only find dresses for $15+.

Found this at Target...yeah only $3.20 in Clearance. Now all I need are some white leggins.

And Lastly, this outfit cost $13 bucks! Gotta love the kids jeans from target..fit very well. The shirt is sooo cute, I love green on her.

Wow shopping is GREAT! especially when your cheap like me.

Crafts n' such

Picture no. 1: A wonderful simple Christmas countdown I made from a pizza tin, with ribbon, vinyl letters, and reindeer magnet.
Picture No. 2: An adorable "12 days before Christmas" themed booklet with a scripture, song, and story for each day to read aloud till christmas eve.
Picture 3-4: A small photo album $2
Inside filled with A-Z pictures of things to help build Emmery's Vocab.
R is for Rock...and S is for Shoe....Of course they had to be useful things and usually one syllable.
Pictures were made by me through powerpoint or scrapblog and I had them printed at walmart for $3.21
Total came to $5.21! Cheap, creative, cute and helpful. Emmery likes to look at it.

Tender Mercies

I thank Heavenly Father as often as I can remember for the tender mercies he blesses our family with every day. All the terrible events that would follow if the dice were to roll the other way are all just a miracle that it didn't. Just now, I thanked my Heavenly Father for the MAJOR blessing that happened just a few minutes ago. I felt the urge to share with all of you. The clock was striking the hour of "Nap time" as I hurried to get my crying child her bottle ready. As you may know she is teething and so the snot comes pouring down just as the 2nd tear begins to fall. My hand quickly reached for the tissues which to my disappointment my hands could grab nothing...the box was empty. A mother panics as she knows any child would smear and rub all that disgust into their face and eyes if she doesn't find something to wipe it with fast. I noticed her outdated, worn, small jacket that I had used the day before to wipe the food off her face with. Lying on the counter, within reach, I quickly grab it when then something falls but Im too busy to notice in the darkness of my kitchen what it was that fell on Emmery's head as I wipe the disgust off . It falls to the floor and so of course as quickly as the brain can transfer the information of the pain coming from the object that made contact with the head...Emm starts to cry more. As I am picking her up to comfort her I look down at the floor to see what it was that had fallen on her head. And to my horror, as a mother, as a being of Protection, a Shelterer I see the black handle of a sharp kitchen knife lying there on the floor of my kitchen. I panic and quickly..No....frantically search my daughter's head for a stab injury, a cut, dripping blood...something to identify that the sharp edge had made any kind of contact. And to my relief, all my mounting grief, worry, panic, guilt, etc began to subside as I could NOT find any harm to my sweet daughters head. The knife that got dragged with the jacket had fallen, handle first, onto my daughter's head. IT WAS A MIRACLE! A tender mercy from my gracious Lord in heaven that that knife did not stick into my sweet little Emmery's head. All of the events that would have occurred[ panic, call 911, call sean, keep Emmery calm along with myself let alone alive,....] do you see where all of this could have gone if the Lord had not stepped in??? Let this be a realization to you as cold water to the face. Thank the Lord, often, for the tender mercies in your life. We may see them as mere luck or coincidence but, OH NO my friends these are blessings from our Father above. Remember that! Please, if you or anybody else you know that might not have read this talk, share this...read this...even if you have already...let it bare testimony again of our wonderful loving Father in heaven. The talk I am referring to is by Elder Bednar of the 12 apostles. Click HERE to read this wonderful talk on Tender Mercies. You wont regret it. :0) luvs to you all!

I heart Twilight!

Okay so here goes....I saw Twilight tonight and It was an all around good movie and FUNNY . I am definetly going to buy it and watch it over and over again. But lets just keep the saying going...oh how does it go again??? oh yes,..." The book was much better than the movie." As Jim Gaffagan would say. lol...love that comedian. And I am going to buy the sound track. I loved loved loved loved LOVED Bella's Lullaby. Robert did a swell job..i heard he actually wrote it. But don't quote me...it might have been another song...anywho, I definetly am going to see it again in theaters when its not so crowded.
So heres how the night panned out...:
I arrived about 40 minutes till our 7.40 showing which btw was pre-purchased online. It was fantastically planned out...Mom and dad so graciously volenterred to suffer the waiting-in-line event...which included the hassling and shoving and giggling of the many many girls who also awaited to see Twilight. Thanks Mom and Dad for duking it out for all of us...because of them...we had 3rd row, middle section seats...the grand view of the screen. Thanks again. And soon enough the wait was over! As soon as those lights went down...All the little kiddies started streaming and squealing...it was like Christmas at Disneyland...everybody so giddie en all. Even I have to admit, I was giddie too! he he. Then it was all shot down. For me anyways, my anxiety kicked in during the previews and my heart started to race and my hands were like Slide Rock. I suppose I've become highly sensitive to what goes on around me, what I see, what I smell, what I hear..im not kidding...ask sean. And the previews made me feel uncomfortable I had to look away and remember to breath again. Thankfully the movie started and it subsided...for the time being. I think I must have avoided, at least, two panic attacks. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to get up and walk out..okay maybe like 5 times. Now don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the movie, but for whatever reason I was having a hard time.
So I think it all boils down to:
the fact that Sean was at the ER half the day(hurt back again)
he got sick at the ER( so of course I have to rewind and replay my made up image of that all day) oh, it was only b/c they pumped him so full of meds not knowing he was on an empty stomach.
Not really having a meal since breakfast
I was busy running around all day
lack of sleep from Sean's moaning and groaning
worried constantly how he was doing(thankfully he's mom took him to ER)
and Yup i think that about sums it up. Gosh, I sure do HATE, and yes i say HATE, this anxiety crap....its such an awful cycle to stop and survive from.
So anyways, All is well now, I am glad the day is over. Its been nerve-racking and exciting all at the same time which all you should know its very exhausting!!!!!!!!! So Go see twilight and try to keep up, i'd say its fast paced.

An Explanation

I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong. Emmery wasn't eating very well at night(nor in general) and would wake up in the night crying almost every night these past two weeks. And especially these past two days have been like "Rarr" with her. Fussy and anything thing that upset her set her off. Like Pms-ing or something, I swear. lol. no, Im kidding. Furthermore, my usual night would go as: hear baby cry, get her, attempt to rock her, then attempt to give bottle, bottle rejected, attempt to feed her, she ate, and back to square one ...trying to put her back down. Now sometimes this would take 1/2 hour; others would take hours. "Emmery has always been a very good sleeper" I thought, "what is going on with her?".
Then yesterday, after a long tiring night of interrupted sleep and constantly trying to keep her from crying, she woke up with a runny nose. "oh, so that explains the past two days" said I, but something ain't right. Its just a runny nose. Well truth be told...today Emmery has ...Cut a tooth! Yes, thats what its been this whole time. Like duh! i told myself. Of course, I had a hunch all along and once gave her teething gel but never thought it was the case! Silly Mommy.
And if you're curious...now she has THREE bottom teeth...and I do believe the other is due very soon.

The day is drawing near

Getting ready for Twilight is a BIG deal. I wanted to have a little spirit so I bought a white T-shirt for a dollar at wal-mart.
Then I grabbed the Iron-on sticker I got from my Breaking Dawn book. Thx Mary! Lastly, I ironed it on...which btw took alot of time but its done! Now all i need to find next would be a red beaded long necklace to wear with it. White tends to drain me out but if I dress up the shirt it should look great. Maybe some cute red earrings to go with it. :0)
And here is my sleepy pie! Just darling isn't she? Love her!

These are just little findings etc, of my everyday learning's(probably not a word, oh well). Some are recipes, facts, remedies, and whatever else I deem usual and decide to share with you all. Have fun learning as I go. Take a look here. Feel free to share with others or follow along...its all jazz to me! luvs:0)

Sleepless nights

So It was about two am this morning that I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. My mind woke up and thats that. My mind really does have a mind of its own. It likes to think about things that I don't like to think about. It especially likes to keep me at bay, up at night, and uncomfortable with myself. Its my anxiety at it again. Not sure why it likes to target my phobia but it does and it does a fantastic job at it. What sucks too is that because I am constantly waking up at night its like I am in a constant dream. And ya know, maybe I wouldn't complain if I actually have good dreams, peaceful dreams, dreams of sense and control, dreams of safety and security, dreams of good health...but that isn't the case. They are more like a constant night mare. Okay maybe not that far stretched but yes, they are definetly most often unpleasant dreams.
Since when have I become this negative person? Well negative thinker? Because obviously if I were a positive thinker than this wouldn't be a problem in my life right now. Why have I developed this , I don't have a clue. But I sure am leaning on faith that I'll get through this "Mind Game" once and for all! The mind is such a powerful thing, such a complex creation, the artwork of Heavenly Father, and till this day scientists still can't understand ALL the brain and all its capacity's. Amazing, really. So here I am...giving in...gettin outta bed so that I can distract myself in to sleeping again. But even then I still don't look forward to it. I sure do miss my sleeping days, the days I would enjoy lying down in my bed to fall asleep, the days where sleeping was my bliss...now its just another thing i have to do. A chore so to speak. Well, its off to the war zone again...the constant fight with my brain that everything is okay, go back to sleep. Good night, or should I say, Morning.

I can feel the beat

One of my favorite things to do lately is dance with Emmery. I popped in one of my old dance CD's that I made and she started to shake her head and stomp her feet. I thought it was hilarious...so I took the opportunity to share the experience with her and dance along myself. She sure thought it was funny that mommy was dancing too. Twisting and Turing, spinning till we were both dizzy,...it was memorable.

Spice up my salad, my favorite

If you dig taco salad then this is a must have dressing. Thankful to my sister who has so graciously brought this delight into my life, I now have a reason to live, no I'm kidding...but seriously....can't do with out the Spicy Ranch. You gotta try it!

If I were superstitious...

If I were Superstitious...
I would care to cross a black cat
or to brake a mirror, if that
To walk under a ladder, c'mon what a joke
However dumb, it does scare some folk
*
You may think this rhyme is lame
well lemme tell ya, "try this game"
So what about the Spilt salt you say?
Well heres somethin' to keep you at bay
*
Beware of the Elbow
Beware of the finger
Beware of the handle
It just may linger
*
All Im tryin' to say is...
Be AWARE of the Salt shaker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*** I tell ya, if i were superstitious, that darn salt Shaker would be the end of my mental existence. I some how find a way to knock that blasted thing over, and over, and over again. Puhhhh...forget throwing it over your shoulder...thats just more of a mess I'd have to clean up, right after the first one. I can't help but find myself blaming for things happening in my life to that darn salt. LOL. Oh boy, if I were superstitious...

Hallow-screeeeem!

Goblets and Goblins...
Creepin' and Crawlings
Hooten and howlings
Treat or treat comes but once this week
The one Picture of Mommy and Emm before the festivities began.

Here comes Miss Lady Bug...more like 'weird spotted devil martian Cow'

At first I thought it would be smart to have Emmery wear her costume through out the week so that she would get used to it...well she did but then when the time came for pictures of course the hat was off or she was pulling at it. Stinker~

Da da was so kind to share is lollie pop before treat or treating.

After about 2 hrs of on-again/off-again Trick or Treating Emmery began to wear out...hence the beautiful face displayed.

However thanks to the treats Emmery didn't go to bed till 11pm.

Yay! NOT! Next time, only one darling :0)
