I was afraid this would happen

The house has issues. I mean come on...what 30 yr old house wouldn't. Imagehosting at Imageloop But Apparently, however normal, the house has been treated for termites in the past and currently has them now. Boo! The previous owners, considering it was foreclosing, thought it would be a good idea to take with them with their tail between their legs: the pool equipment the pool pump etc a pump for the pond the garbage disposal(who in their right mind takes a garbage disposal?!?!?)
(rolling eyes)
Whatever, at least they didn't trash the house or put holes in the walls. All things considered, i guess i should thank my lucky stars. But still, what the heck, take the garbage disposal?! ugh. Okay so get this apparently the bank had made a mistake. The house in actuality is only 1500 sq ft...as in 1500 sq ft of what they call "Livable space". When we were told and was certainly displayed that the house was 2500 sq ft. This is false because, as we found out today by the inspector, the additions to the house( 2 spaces, bathroom, guest room) don't have vents. Which means that if they cannot be heated or cooled its not considered livable space. Now this brings up an interesting bit. The bank said it was 2500 sq ft...which is false...because it can only be considered that if it was livable space and the bank WOULD know that IF they gotten the county recorder. So whoops on the banks part...and apparently they can get into big trouble for misconstruing information. And they said it was 4 bed 3 bath which we discovered to be false as well. Its technically not considered a full bath unless a bath tub is present too. There is only one bath tub in one bathroom, the rest are showers w/tile. So Whoops, another big No-No on their part. Another downer situation: the roof leaks in the carport which is addition to the house meaning they put the roof on themselves. So because the roof is (duh) apart of the house it is also considered not a livable condition. So heres where it gets icky. We can't fix these until we own it BUT we can't own it until its fixed. Now its become a catch 22. however, we are hoping that because we can get the bank in big trouble, that they will go in a fix these issues before we buy the house from them. And that is where we are at right now. curious to see the House? visit here.

Ash,
I'm so sorry. Crazy people, I've heard of stuff like that before. And the add ons- that's crazy. They have to be vented. Hellooo you live in Arizona. Becareful with that stuff cause you'll run into the same problems when you go to sell the house.

good luck with everything! I'm hoping the bank fixes it too, since I doubt they want to go into more trouble with the housing market right now. good luck!
